RW Seals’ leak‑sealing technology has received significant industry recognition, winning two prestigious awards for innovation and collaboration.
At Manchester Metropolitan University’s Festival of Innovation, an event of thought‑provoking sessions and advancements across multiple disciplines, RW Seals was awarded the CDI Advanced Manufacturing Award. This recognised a collaborative project with PrintCity at MMU, which led to the successful integration of additive manufacturing into the M3 leak‑sealing process and marked the beginning of a broader digital development journey. The award reflects the strength of the joint team and its commitment to advancing engineering capability.
The adoption of 3D printing into SF6 leak‑sealing is one of several innovations introduced by RW Seals as part of a continuous improvement approach. This focus on development was further acknowledged at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) Excellence and Innovation Awards, where RW Seals’ collaborative project with National Grid, the Energy Innovation Centre, and Cardiff University received a Bronze Award in the Net Zero and Climate Action category.
The project has delivered tangible environmental benefits by reducing the release of high‑global‑warming‑potential gases into the atmosphere. The recognition highlights the importance of practical, deployable solutions that deliver immediate impact, alongside longer‑term, market‑shaping technologies.
This success reflects the value of collaboration, innovation, and a shared commitment to solving real‑world challenges.

Impact through collaboration, striving for the best and tackling a real challenge.
